Asst. Prof. Urartu Şeker from Bilkent University’s National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) won the 2023 Sedat Simavi Foundation Health Sciences Award.
Dr. Şeker was awarded with the prize for his work titled “Engineered Bacteria with Genetic Circuits Accumulating Nanomagnets as Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast Agents.”
The Sedat Simavi Award was established in 1977 by the Turkish Journalists Society. The award is named after the founder of the society and is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to areas in journalism, radio, television, cartoon, literature, social sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences and sports.
