Tuition Fees

Bilkent University charges tuition fees. For students who are admitted to Bilkent University via the national ÖSYM examination and placement system (YKS), tuition fees are quoted in Turkish Liras and announced on a yearly basis.

The annual tuition fee determined for each academic year covers both the Fall and Spring semesters. Students who register for only the Fall or only the Spring semester are charged half of the annual tuition fee.

For Turkish (T.C.) Citizens who are admitted through the 2026 Central Placement Exam (YKS), the tuition fee for the 2026 – 2027 academic year is 1.295.000 TL including 10% VAT.

The annual tuition fee is paid in two equal installments at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Students who choose to pay the entire annual tuition fee at the beginning of the Fall semester are eligible for a discounted annual tuition fee. For Turkish (T.C.) Citizens who are admitted through the 2026 Central Placement Exam (YKS), the discounted annual tuition fee for the 2026 – 2027 academic year is 1.245.000 TL including 10% VAT.

If the VAT rate changes, the change will be reflected proportionally in the tuition fees.

Newly admitted students are required to pay the tuition fee before their university registration appointment. Continuing students must pay their tuition fees no later than the payment deadline specified in the academic calendar.

Tuition fees for the following academic year are determined in July in accordance with the relevant schedule established by the Council of Higher Education.

For continuing students, tuition fee increases in subsequent academic years are limited to the average rate calculated on the basis of the twelve-month average rates of change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) for June, as announced by TÜİK at the beginning of July.

Except for students who have been granted a leave of absence, all students whose student status remains active must register every semester. Tuition fees are independent of the number of courses for which a student registers and whether the student is repeating any courses.

Students who cancel their registration after completing final registration but before classes begin receive a full refund of the tuition fees paid. For students who cancel their registration after classes have begun, the refund is calculated according to the number of weeks elapsed between the first day of classes and the date of cancellation. The remaining amount is refunded after the applicable deduction has been made.

Newly registered students are not granted a leave of absence during their first academic year.

Tuition fees can be paid through the branches of banks that have an agreement with Bilkent University. Please see the Tuition Payment Methods page for details.

Students who transfer to Bilkent University from another university to which they have gained admission through the Central Placement Examination (YKS) are assigned to the tuition-fee category applicable in the year in which they transferred to Bilkent University.

Students holding a 50% tuition scholarship pay half of the fees stated above.
