Prof. Refet Gürkaynak Takes on New Role at CEPR

Prof. Refet Gürkaynak, of the Department of Economics, has been appointed Vice President for Special Projects at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

In this role, Prof. Gürkaynak will lead efforts to further develop CEPR’s central banking network and oversee the next phase of its Europe-Asia Initiative.

Prof. Gürkaynak joined CEPR’s Monetary Economics and Fluctuations programme as a Research Fellow in 2006 and has served as Programme Director since 2021.

Founded in 1983, the Centre for Economic Policy Research is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting policy-relevant economic research and ensuring that its findings reach decision-makers in both the public and private sectors.
