Bilkent University is one of 10 universities to have received the “Subject Area Success Award” from Turkey’s Council of Higher Education (YÖK). In determining the recipients of the award, the Council collaborated with the London-based university rankings company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) to identify universities in Turkey that are internationally competitive in individual subject areas.
The 10 Turkish universities appear in the QS list of the world’s top one thousand universities, and have moreover been recognized in the most recent QS World University Rankings by Subject for academic and research excellence in one or more subject areas.
Bilkent University received the award consequent to the recognition of the following departments in the subject area rankings: Chemistry; Computer Engineering; Economics; Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Industrial Engineering; International Relations; Management; Materials Science; Mechanical Engineering; Physics; and Political Science and Public Administration.
