Every year, the Middle East Technical University Parlar Foundation recognizes the achievements of scientists and scholars from a variety of fields for their exceptional research productivity, in honor of the late METU professor Mustafa Parlar.

Five Bilkent faculty members are recipients of Parlar Foundation Research Incentive Awards: Asst. Prof. Ayşegül Dündar Boral (Department of Computer Engineering), UNAM Researcher Talip Serkan Kasırga (National Nanotechnology Research Center), UNAM Asst. Prof. Mustafa Ordu (National Nanotechnology Research Center and Materials Science and Nanotechnology), UNAM Asst. Prof. Gürkan Yeşilöz (National Nanotechnology Research Center and Materials Science and Nanotechnology) and UNAM Asst. Prof. Hasan Yılmaz (National Nanotechnology Research Center and Materials Science and Nanotechnology).
Research Incentive Award is given to young researchers (who have not yet reached the age of 40 on the first day of the year in which the award is given) who have contributed to the development of a field of science with their research or have assisted in solving national issues in that field. This award can be given for a specific research project or considering all the work of a researcher or a research group.
