Bilkent International Laboratory Theater (BILT) presents Değirmen (The Mill) by Zana Kılıç, directed by Ayşe Emel Mesci.
The Mill was produced as BILT’s 2023 play after being selected in the 2021/22 Play Selections, and BILT Staged Reading Series. BILT, founded by the Bilkent University Department of Theatre as a graduate theater ensemble selects and develops new texts of contemporary Turkish playwrights.
THE MILL
A young man goes to a mill in hopes of finding his father’s lost ears. Encountering a miller and a man there, the young man realizes that instead of wheat, bodies are being ground inside, and he asks them for his father’s ears. Will he be able to break free from this mill that “grinds” humanity in an endless cycle and break the cycle?
