Abstract: This talk will cover the key ideas of fractional calculus, introducing and motivating the field from various points of view. Specific results will then be discussed, including new theorems concerning fractional PDEs and important properties of some recently developed models of fractional calculus, in particular the AB model from 2016. The final section of the talk will consider asymptotic methods for analysing the growth of zeta functions, including how new results in this area compare with those achieved by the classics.
