*Bio:* My background is linguistics; more exactly, Estonian language and literature. I entered the Foreign Service 20 years ago and may sincerely accept that the main reason was curiosity: this career offers unlimited possibilities to investigate how the world is functioning. All my four postings have been very motivating destinations: Madrid, Tel Aviv, Lisbon and now Ankara, the last two as an Ambassador. Maintaining my passion for languages and literature, I have worked as freelance translator of literature from Spanish into Estonian.
