“Robust Numerical Methods for Fluid Flow Models”

Abstract: Nonlinear partial differential equations arising in fluid flow models pose fundamental challenges for numerical approximation and iterative solutions. Their discretization leads to large nonlinear algebraic systems whose stability and convergence properties are highly sensitive to model parameters and discretization choices. In this talk, I will examine analytical and computational aspects of nonlinear flow solvers. I will discuss acceleration strategies for fixed-point iterations, emphasizing their effect on convergence behavior and robustness. I will also describe data-enhanced approaches that enhance stability and improve convergence in incompressible flow simulations. Together, these approaches provide a framework for analyzing and improving the convergence behavior of nonlinear discretized flow systems.
