1991’s wild Delicatessen will be Bilkent Cinematics’ next great movie event!
Directed by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie), this black comedy takes place in a run-down apartment in post-apocalyptic France, where food is scarce and rather drastic measures are taken to secure it (fans of Sweeney Todd will not be surprised by these measures, however).
“This lightweight but sometimes subversively stylish farce” (New York Times) is a wholly unique and unforgettable film experience that will “leave you overwhelmed and breathless” (Salon). In its visual audacity and energy it recalls the films of Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam, who was an early supporter of Delicatessen.
Join Bilkent Cinematics on Thursday, March 31, 6.30 p.m., in FFB-22 for another great night of movies, snacks, prizes, and discussion. Everyone is welcome.
