You are cordially invited to attend Faculty Academic English Program’s Çiğdem and Hossein Dabir Award for Excellence in Short Fiction Ceremony for 2022 and 2023.
The Çiğdem and Hossein Dabir Award for Excellence in Short Fiction is intended for Bilkent students who display exceptional proficiency in the short fiction form. Applicants were selected from the ENG 312: Introduction to Creative Writing course through their submission of a single work of short fiction. The winners to be honored at the ceremony were ultimately decided by a committee composed of representatives from FAE, ELIT and COMD.
Please join us in celebrating these authors, who will be reading from their award winning stories.
Çiğdem and Hossein Dabir, lifelong advocates for creative expression and student achievement, were instrumental in the early design and deployment of the 312 course. Their passing, in 2015 and 2020 respectively, was a great loss to the Bilkent Community. This award, in remembrance of their grace, serves to honor their memory by providing Bilkent students the opportunity to be recognized for and share their artistry with us all.
