EMERGING TALENTS: CERAMICS, MOSAICS AND PAINTING EXHIBITION
We are pleased to invite you to the end-of-year exhibition organized by the ceramic, mosaic and painting instructors of the Department of Fine Arts. The exhibition will showcase ceramic and mosaic works and paintings produced by the students taking the elective courses FA 211 Introduction to Painting, FA 217 Introduction to Ceramics, and FA 219 Ancient Techniques and New Technology in Mosaic from various departments such as IAED, POLS, AMER, IR, GRA, ELIT, ECON and PSYCH.
This exhibition, created by students who had not previously received professional artistic training, presents the outcomes of a semester-long process in which they developed technical skills while reflecting their inner worlds and imaginations through artistic production. The exhibition aims to bring together art works created through diverse practices and perspectives in the related fields. The expressive encounter between brush and canvas, the meditative rhythm emerging from the individual presence of mosaic tesserae, and the transformative process through which clay is shaped by hand and refined through fire constitute the principal visual and conceptual framework of this exhibition. The exhibition, in this sense, aims to reveal how different materials and techniques evolve into diverse artistic expressions through the individual interpretations of the students.
You are all cordially invited to attend the opening and share the enthusiasm of our students who constitute diverse range of voices and mediums, fostering a dialogue between established and emerging talents.
