Abstract:
In this panel, participants will discuss the concept of ‘game design’ and the topic of ‘what does a game designer do?’. Game development is an interdisciplinary design process that requires the knowledge and methods of different disciplines. The daily routine and the responsibilities of a game designer who has a very significant role in this game development process, the general workflow in medium and large scale game studios, the designer’s role within that workflow, and the relationship between game design and other disciplines will be discussed.
Bio:
Gökçek Karaağaç is a graduate of Visual Communication Design and is currently in his 11th year at TaleWorlds Entertainment. For the past five years, he has served as the Design Team Lead.
Alp Karaata has been designing and developing games for 15 years. For the past six years, he has worked as a game designer at TaleWorlds Entertainment and has recently taken on the role of Design Team Lead.
Şeyma Kavak Gökçek has a background in Industrial Design and completed a PhD in Game Design. She began his career in 3D modeling and animation, later developing games and animation projects independently. She is currently working as a game designer at TaleWorlds Entertainment.
