Department of Communication and Design is pleased to invite you to a research colloquium in visual aesthetics:

Stephan Vorbrugg and Andreas Treske

The long take and camera movement in Birdman (2014) and Victoria (2015)

Thursday, December 10th, 2015
@ 12:40 in FB 114 / FADA Building

Both films rely on the long take as a central stylistic element. While Birdman uses extensively VFX to combine lengthy scenes, Victoria is shot in one single take. This formal approach in cinematic story telling challenges our understanding of the long take and authenticity. Vorbrugg and Treske will present a part from their ongoing research project on camera movement.
