Abstract
Hydrogen is considered to be an ideal fuel for future energy demands when it is sourced from clean and renewable energy resources. Photocatalytic splitting of water offers a promising method for the clean, low cost and environmentally friendly production of hydrogen (H2) using solar energy. This seminar aims to explore the photo(electo)catalytic behaviour of wide range of nanocomposite materials including 1D TiO2 nanotubes-based composites, 2D g-C3N4/Ni(OH)2 heterojunction, α-Fe2O3, TiO2 nanorod arrays photoanodes materials for water splitting to produce H2. This presentation explores how the nanocomposite materials enhance the rate of H2 generation efficiency. Also demonstrate the key experimental parameters that can drastically improve the photocatalytic efficiency. With synergistic properties of heterojunction catalysts besides the electrochemical studies, it pays path for large scale production of H2 for day-to-day life applications.
