Panelists:

Prof. Dr. Sirin Okyayuz, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey
Sirin Okyayuz is a trainer and researcher at Hacettepe University’s Department of Translation and Interpreting. Her research spans literary translation, audiovisual translation, translation of popular culture, and translator training. She has translated bestselling fiction, works on politics and philosophy, comics, adapted children’s books, and drama for the Turkish State Theatre, and is also an active audiovisual translator.

Prof. Anna Matamala, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
Anna Matamala is a Full Professor at UAB and a member of Transmedia Catalonia, a research group investigating media and digital accessibility. She is the director of AccessCat, a Catalonia-wide network of research groups working on accessible communication, and one of the creators of the MAP platform. Highly active in standardisation, she has an extensive publication record and is currently involved in several funded projects including WEL, ENACT, and Immerse.

Prof. Pilar Orero, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
Pilar Orero (PhD, UMIST, UK) is a leading scholar in media accessibility at UAB’s TransMedia Catalonia Lab. Author and editor of numerous books, nearly 100 academic papers, and an equal number of book chapters — all focused on media accessibility — she is a prominent voice in EU-funded research and international standardisation. She participates in the UN ITU IRG-AVA, ISO, SAGA, and ANEC, and co-chairs a study group on accessibility and inclusion in the ITU Metaverse Focus Group. Her recent work focuses on immersive and green accessibility through projects including ImAc, TRACTION, MEDIAVERSE, MILE, and GREENSCENT. She previously led the EU network LEADME on Media Accessibility.
