“Nonlinearity and Randomness in Many-Body Physics: Insights and Practical Applications”

Abstract

Many-body physics is a rich field that connects diverse topics ranging from fundamental interactions to condensed matter physics and its engineering applications. Many-body theory is generally formulated in a linear framework. Nevertheless, randomness and strong nonlinearities are crucial aspects. I will present three case studies characterized by these aspects. First, I will revisit nonlinear quantum electrodynamics with applications to solids. Second, I will discuss hydrodynamics and its applications in electron transport theory. If time permits, I will explore nonlinear coupled oscillators in the context of inference and inverse problems, with applications in machine learning.
