“Swim Challenge” Joins “Fitness Challenge” on the Spring Sports Agenda
As an aquatic counterpart to the “Sports as a Way of Life” Fitness Challenge, the Physical Education and Sports Center will be holding a Swim Challenge this semester. The event will run from Monday, March 13 to Sunday, April 9.
Participants are to swim a minimum of half an hour at least two times and at most five times per week during the four-week period. They will get five points each time that they swim, and should inform the lifeguard they are participating in the challenge each time that they come to the pool.
Students taking GE250-251 who collect points in the challenge will also receive points for the course as follows: 30 GE points for 60 Swim Challenge points; 40 GE points for 80 Swim Challenge points; 50 GE points for 100 Swim Challenge points; and 60 GE points for 120 Swim Challenge points.
At the conclusion of the challenge, a reception will be held at which participants who have collected 120 or more Swim Challenge points will receive special gifts and “Sports as a Way of Life” t-shirts.
