“Refining the metamaterial based optical perfect absorbers towards clinical translation”
Abstract
Metamaterial based optical perfect absorbers demonstrate the sensitivity required for liquid biopsy-based diagnostics. However, their adaptation into clinical trials is not yet mature. In this talk, the obstacles hindering this adaptation will be elaborated on and engineered solutions to meet these needs will be proposed.
Dr. Serap Aksu earned her B.S. from Sabancı University and Ph.D. from Boston University in Materials Science and Engineering. She joined the faculty at Koç University in 2018. Her research group designs and fabricates metamaterials and metalenses, aiming to improve biosensing performance in miniaturized diagnostic devices.
