“Orlicz Spaces Equipped with the s-Norm that are Abstract M-spaces”

Let Φ be an Orlicz function and LΦ(X,Σ, μ) be the corresponding Orlicz space on a nonatomic, σ-finite, complete measure space (X,Σ, μ). In this talk we consider Orlicz spaces equipped with s-norms generated by outer functions. We characterize when the Orlicz space LΦ(X,Σ, μ) with the s-norm is an abstract M-space.
In particular, we show that the Orlicz space LΦ(X,Σ, μ) with the s-norm is an AM-space if and only if it is linearly isometric to L∞. Several examples of outer functions and corresponding Orlicz functions are presented to illustrate the obtained criteria.
