“Diagonal coinvariant algebras and stability”
Abstract: Being explicit quotients of polynomial algebras, the diagonal coinvariant algebras have a fairly elementary definition. Yet even their dimension is known in only a few cases, with some of the computations currently only accessible via algebraic geometry. After an introduction to these objects, I will outline a point of view by Church–Ellenberg–Farb in which their graded pieces can be seen to stabilize in a polynomial fashion, and point out in which ranges one can expect these stabilizations to occur.
