“A reformulation of Alperin’s weight conjecture”
Abstract: Alperin’s weight conjecture (1987) is central to modern representation theory of finite groups. It asserts that the number of isomorphism classes of modular representations of finite groups is equal to the number of conjugacy classes of their weights. There is also a refined version of the conjecture corresponding to the block decomposition of group algebras. In this talk, we give a reformulation of Alperin’s blockwise conjecture in terms of diagonal p-permutation functors. This is a joint work with Boltje and Bouc.
