Abstract
Türkiye is the world’s largest refugee-hosting country, with over 4 million migrants and refugees. Migration and refugees have been studied from various perspectives, and this talk will focus on how the issue of migration and refugees can be approached from a communications perspective and reveal the different methods used and areas examined to provide a multilayered approach to this area. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özdora will offer a glimpse into her research agenda on migration and refugees in Türkiye, focusing on media representations and framing, social media analysis of online conversations, utilization of refugees as a public diplomacy tool, civil society organizations working on migration and cohesion, and healthcare service provision through street-level bureaucrats.
