Short bio:
Shing Hon Lam is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science and an M.S. candidate in Statistics at UCLA. His first line of research examines how the WTO uses evidence, transparency, and legal procedures to shape regulatory politics and trade disputes. His second line of research studies China’s bureaucratic strategies and influence within international organizations, particularly through staffing, leadership appointments, and institutional norms. His work has appeared in International Affairs, Review of International Organizations, Journal of Global Security Studies, and Global Policy.
