Bio: Dr. Bülent Gümüş received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) and his master’s and PhD degrees in the same field from Texas Tech University. Dr. Gümüş has a total of 28 years of experience in both industry and academia—15 years in Türkiye, 12 years in the United States, and 1 year in Qatar. Dr. Gümüş has 16 years of experience in prestigious organizations operating in the defense industry and R&D, including BAE Systems Inc., OnBoard Software, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and Milsoft, where he served as Engineer, Project Manager, Program Manager, Business Development Consultant, and Senior Advisor to the President. In his academic career, he worked as a full-time faculty member at TOBB ETU and Qatar University. He also served as a visiting lecturer at Texas Tech University, Bilkent University, Hacettepe University, and TED University, teaching courses on new product and system design, business analysis and design, project management, and engineering economics. In addition, he conducted research in these fields and published research outputs. He currently serves as the General Manager of the “Sistematik İnovasyon Yönetimi ” company, which he co-founded and which owns the products innoCentrum and Girişim Pusulası. In this role, he provides training and consultancy services in R&D, innovation, entrepreneurship, project management, and strategic planning to leading organizations in various sectors in Türkiye, including Aselsan, Havelsan, Türksat, Hayat Kimya, Beyçelik, Arlight, and Lokman Hekim University. Dr. Gümüş is also a member of the Investment Committee at Fonbulucu, Türkiye’s leading crowdfunding platform, and at İvedik GSYF. Dr. Gümüş offers training, mentorship, and consultancy in new product/system design, innovation management, technology management, entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and project management. By blending the knowledge, experience, and skills he has gained from different disciplines, cultures, companies, and universities, he is able to provide high-quality, impactful, and engaging consultancy and training services.
