“Lumpability of Networks via a Dynamical Generalization of Cospectral Vertices”
Onur Ege Erden, M.S. Student in Mathematics
Abstract: A new vertex relation in networks corresponding to dynamical symmetry and inducing lumpability is defined with respect to dynamics modeled by the adjacency or the Laplacian matrix. Several constructions and operations that preserve these constructions are given, both for this vertex relation, called coprobable, as well as for its subclass, cospectral vertices. Further results are obtained for cospectral vertices, including a construction of “almost” strongly cospectral vertices and an investigation of dynamically symmetric subgraphs induced by cospectral vertices.
