Biography:
Ambassador Yavuzalp started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in June 1989. Between 1989 and 2013, he served in central positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Cyprus Department and Political Planning Department; First Secretary in the Department of Council of Europe and Human Rights; Section Chief, Department Head, and Deputy Director General at the Directorate General for International Security Affairs. During the same period, he served as Third Secretary at the Embassy in Brussels, Second Secretary and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in Bishkek, and worked as a political officer at the NATO International Secretariat on NATO Enlargement, Partnerships, and Counter-Terrorism files. For his work in NATO, he was awarded the Order of Excellence by the NATO Secretary General in 2004. After serving as First Undersecretary at the Embassy in Berlin between 2006 and 2010, Ambassador Yavuzalp was appointed Ambassador to Addis Ababa in 2013. Between November 2020 and July 2021, Ambassador Yavuzalp served as the Co-Coordinator of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and between January 2021 and December 2021, served as Political Advisor to the III Corps Command, which assumed the role of NATO Response Force LandCom. Ambassador Yavuzalp has been serving as the Head of the Translation Department since August 2021.
