International Symposium on Black Sea Archaeology Hosted by Bilkent Archaeology on November 6-7
An international symposium titled “Circumnavigating the Black Sea, Prospecting its Hinterland: Projects, Ideas and Interactions” will take place from 6th– 7th November 2025 at Bilkent University, Ankara. This symposium aims to bring together leading scholars and researchers to share and discuss the latest findings, methodologies, and applications of different perspectives related to the Archaeology of the Black Sea region and its hinterland from prehistoric times to Late Antiquity and the Byzantine era. The symposium is co-organized by Prof. Dr. F. Ayşe Erol from Hacıbayram University, Department of Archaeology, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thomas Zimmermann from the Department of Archaeology at Bilkent University.
