On Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6.00 p.m., (FF-B06) Bilkent Cinematics presents the last film of its Fall series, Noah Baumbach\u2019s Frances Ha (2012).<\/p>\n
Baumbach, director of such acclaimed movies as The Squid and the Whale and Mistress America, gives us in Frances Ha a portrait of Frances Halladay (played by Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the movie) an aspiring dancer in her early 20s trying to establish her career and shape her identity. The film traces her struggles to find out exactly what she wants out of life and whether she has the will and talent to achieve it.<\/p>\n
The Washington Post says Frances Ha is \u201ca film that feels spontaneous and finely crafted at the same time,\u201d and IMBd calls it \u201ca modern comic fable that explores New York, friendship, class, ambition, failure, and redemption.\u201d<\/p>\n
