This theorem, and the techniques involved in its proof, have been extremely important in the development of higher dimensional algebraic geometry. However, Siu’s argument is deeply analytic and it does not generalize to positive and mixed characteristic. In this talk I will discuss counterexamples to Siu’s theorem and their consequences, as well as a weakening of it, valid in positive and mixed characteristic, and an application to boundedness of canonically polarized 3folds.

Date: November 19, Wednesday
Time: 17:00 (Turkey)
Place: Zoom

To request the event link, please send a message to turker.ozsari@bilkent.edu.tr

You are cordially invited to the seminars organized by the Department of Mathematics.
