I entered the Foreign Service 20 years ago and may sincerely accept that the main reason was curiosity: this career offers unlimited possibilities to investigate how the world is functioning. All my four postings have been very motivating destinations: Madrid, Tel Aviv, Lisbon and now Ankara, the last two as an Ambassador.
