In his first novel, \u201cThe Clarinetist\u201d (G\u0131rnatac\u0131), for which he won the 2012 Everest First Novel Award, Erc\u00fcment Cengiz used the somber sound of the G-clarinet to take readers on a journey between Istanbul and Chicago and from 1890 to 1955. In his second novel, \u201cThe Cellist\u201d (\u00c7ellocu), he carries the reader back to the time of Abd\u00fclmecid to the accompaniment of Vivaldi\u2019s concerto.<\/p>\n
In this interview, guest author Erc\u00fcment Cengiz will respond to the questions and comments of writer and critic Cem Erciyes, using music, images, and words to illuminate his historically grounded novels.<\/p>\n
