A topological group is basically a mix of two concepts in mathematics: topologies and groups. This new object will give us a way to complete a group in a topological sense. After we learn about completion of a topological group, we will look at complete group examples such as p-adic integers and profinite groups.<\/p>\n<p>Advisor: Asst.
