\nA TALK WITH MURATHAN OZBEK The Department of Fine Arts cordially invites everyone to \u201cMeet the Artist III \u2013 Murathan \u00d6zbek\u201d for the 3rd session of a series of events intended to host contemporary artists.
\nWe are honored to host artist and photographer Murathan \u00d6zbek for an exclusive pop-up visit and artist talk. The event will take place on the ground floor of FC Building at FADA at 13:00 on October 14, 2026 (Wednesday). We will meet the artist in front of the coffee spot as he shares his experience and insight in his field. The talk will be followed by a Questions and Answers session.

\nBorn in 1983, Murathan \u00d6zbek is a photographer, director, and the founder of Pomus Studio. After graduating from the Department of Economics at Bilkent University, he earned his Master\u2019s degree in Cinema and Television from Istanbul Bilgi University.
\nIn 2010, \u00d6zbek was awarded the Grand Prize in the \u201cAngels & Demons\u201d category at the Sony World Photography Awards. In subsequent years, he won awards at numerous prestigious international competitions, including the Paris Px3 (Gold and Silver Medals), Trierenberg Super Circuit (Gold Medal), IPA, Nikon Contest, One Eyeland, and Moscow Foto Awards. Throughout his career, he has produced concept-driven solo exhibitions such as \u201cThe First Interpretations of My Unfinished Dream,\u201d \u201cIn,\u201d \u201cAn,\u201d \u201cBlack and White,\u201d and most recently, \u201cBeside You\u201d (2025) at FAAR Gallery.
\nTranslating his cinematographic narrative language from photography to the silver screen, \u00d6zbek wrote and directed the short film \u201cMuseum of Unfinished Loves\u201d in 2017. His work focuses on the themes of humanity, nature, memory, and the subconscious. The artist continued his multidisciplinary creative work, combining photography, painting, and artificial intelligence in his 2024 exhibition \u201cYou Did This,\u201d created in collaboration with Ali Kotan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
