The role of one form of memory (autobiographical) in shaping the self and one’s identity will also be discussed, in the attempt to address the question of whether the ‘real’ self could be after all a myth.

Brief Bio
Giuliana Mazzoni’s research in human memory, autobiographical memory, and their fallacies is internationally known. In 2019 she was invited to join the faculty at the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy) as full professor with a special governmental law, after a long international career. She is currently Emeritus in Neuroscience/Psychology at the University of Hull (UK) where she was full professor.
