Abstract: (Joint work with Serap \u00d6ztop)
\nLet \u03a6 be an Orlicz function and L\u03a6(X,\u03a3, \u03bc) be the corresponding Orlicz space on a nonatomic, \u03c3-finite, complete measure space (X,\u03a3, \u03bc). In this talk we consider Orlicz spaces equipped with s-norms generated by outer functions. We characterize when the Orlicz space L\u03a6(X,\u03a3, \u03bc) with the s-norm is an abstract M-space.
\nIn particular, we show that the Orlicz space L\u03a6(X,\u03a3, \u03bc) with the s-norm is an AM-space if and only if it is linearly isometric to L\u221e. Several examples of outer functions and corresponding Orlicz functions are presented to illustrate the obtained criteria.
