It asserts that the number of isomorphism classes of modular representations of finite groups is equal to the number of conjugacy classes of their weights. There is also a refined version of the conjecture corresponding to the block decomposition of group algebras. In this talk, we give a reformulation of Alperin\u2019s blockwise conjecture in terms of diagonal p-permutation functors.
