I will discuss some problems related to the cohomology of an EI-category. One possible approach to these problems is using E-resolutions introduced by Lueck. These resolutions give a spectral sequence for ext-groups over an EI-category, which can be used to explain obstructions for the existence of solutions to the problems that we are interested in.
