Effective 1 September 2022, the use of cigarettes and other tobacco products including electronic cigarettes will be prohibited in all indoor and outdoor spaces of Bilkent University.<\/p>\n
In the intervening period before the campus-wide prohibition takes place, current areas where smoking is permitted will be gradually phased out. A committee has been established to implement the policy, set the schedule of phasing out smoking areas, propose enforcement measures, and develop a community-wide communication strategy. Orhan Ayt\u00fcr, Tayfun \u00d6z\u00e7elik, Emre Berk, Kamer Rodoplu, Mete Aker and the president of the Student Council have been elected as committee members.<\/p>\n
