The name &#8220;Bilkent&#8221; exemplifies this aim, since it is an acronym of &#8220;bilim kenti&#8221;: Turkish for &#8220;city of learning and science.&#8221; The University campus is located off the main highway to Eski\u015fehir about 12 km.
