\"\"The \u0130hsan Do\u011framac\u0131 International Composition Competition, organized by Bilkent University for the first time this year, has been concluded. It was suggested that the participating works be dedicated to Atat\u00fcrk within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.\u00a0The competition was held in the category of orchestral works with the goal of preserving Hocabey’s memory in both the arts and sciences.<\/p>\n

The following composers were declared the winners by the jury, which included G\u00fcrer Aykal, Zosha Di Castri, Mahir Cetiz, Kamran \u0130nce, Magnus Lindberg, Orhun Orhon, Onur T\u00fcrkmen, and Hasan U\u00e7arsu:<\/p>\n

2nd Prize:<\/strong> Massimo Lauricella\u00a0(You can listen to the work here.<\/a>)<\/p>\n

3rd Prize:<\/strong> Akin Kilis\u00a0(You can listen to the work here.<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Honorable Mentions:<\/strong> Roberto Sansuini, \u0130layda Deniz O\u011fuz, Hasan Niyazi Tura<\/p>\n

The Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor G\u00fcrer Aykal, presented the composers’ award-winning compositions on April 3, Prof. \u0130hsan Do\u011framac\u0131’s 109th birthday. Every two years, the competition will continue to take place, with piano in 2026, violin\u00a0in 2028, and cello in 2030.<\/p>\n
