Dr. Bilge Baytekin and Dr. Hümeyra Çağlayan have been awarded the 2015 national UNESCO-L’Oreal Women in Science Award.
The UNESCO-L’Oreal Women in Science Program aims to improve the position of women in science by recognizing outstanding women researchers who have contributed to scientific progress.
Dr. Baytekin received the UNESCO-L’Oreal Award for her research on an environment-friendly mechanochemical mitigation of two prominent persistent organic pollutants from environment.
Dr. Çağlayan received the UNESCO-L’Oreal Award for her research in the field of graphene biosensors. She will be honored at a ceremony to be held in İstanbul on April 9.
