EU to Fund Faculty of Law Project

Asst. Prof. Gülüm Özçelik of Faculty of Law has had her proposal for a Jean Monnet Module accepted by the European Commission.

Jean Monnet Modules are educational programs or courses on EU studies; Dr. Özçelik’s proposal for a program on the topic “European and International Migration Law” was one of 251 projects approved for funding from among 1,315 submissions worldwide, and is the first Bilkent Faculty of Law project to be funded by the EU.

The three-year program will include both undergraduate and graduate courses as well as national and international conferences, with the aim of establishing an environment in which instruction, research and discussion on the legal aspects of migration may be conducted in depth. Students who pass the module’s courses will receive Jean Monnet certificates.
