The Young Scientist Awards given by Bilim Kahramanları Derneği (Science Heroes Association) was announced. The award aims to encourage the young scientists who have contributed to basic science and engineering at the national and international level.
This award is given to scientist under the age of 38, who made significant contributions to the fields of Basic Sciences and Engineering, and pioneered the development of these fields in Turkey and contributed to their visibility in our country. The 8th Young Scientist awards were given to seven young scientists.
Amongst the 126 applicants; Asst. Prof. Çağlar Elbüken (Bilkent University UNAM – Materials Science and Nanotechnology), and Asst. Prof. Selim Hanay (Bilkent University – Physics / Mechanical Engineering), received the 2019 Young Scientist Awards.
