Nanocolloquium Seminar: “Ultrafast Photonics Time-Frequency Signal Processing Using Integrated Photonics,” Prof. Andrew Weiner (Purdue University), UNAM Conference Hall, 3:40PM February 16 (EN)

Dear Colleagues and Students,

You are cordially invited to UNAM Nanocolloquium seminars focusing on advancements in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The seminars bring us the most recent developments in these exciting fields.

The third talk of this spring term will be presented by Prof. Andrew Weiner*

Title: Ultrafast Photonics Time-Frequency Signal Processing Using Integrated Photonics
Date: February 16, 2018 (Friday)
Time: 16:00**
Place: UNAM Conference Hall

ABSTRACT –
The lecture begins by discussing examples of photonic time-frequency processing of ultrafast and broadband signals, demonstrated initially using bulk or discrete optical components. Selected applications of optical microresonators and other integrated photonics devices for analog signal processing of ultrafast and broadband light are then reviewed. Topics include radio-frequency and optical arbitrary waveform generation, optical frequency combs, and time-frequency entangled photons.
