MATH Seminar: “Tate Cohomology and Cohomologically Trivial Modules,” Muhammed Said Gündoğan, SA-141, 1:40PM November 19 (EN)

Dear Colleagues and Students,

You are kindly invited to the Topology Seminar organized by the Department of Mathematics.
Speaker: Muhammed Said Gündoğan (Bilkent University)

“Tate cohomology and cohomologically trivial modules”

Abstract: A G-module M is said to be cohomologically trivial if for any subgroup H of G, all the Tate cohomology groups of H with coeeficients in M are zero. We first define Tate cohomology using complete resolutions and discuss the equivalent conditions for being cohomologically trivial stated in 8th section of the chapter VI of Brown’s book on Cohomology of Groups.
