MATH Seminar: “Quiver Representations,” Bekir Danış, SA-141, 10:40AM November 26 (EN)

Dear Colleagues and Students,

You are cordially invited to the Algebra Seminar organized by the Department of Mathematics.
Speaker: Bekir Danış (Bilkent University)
“Quiver Representations”

Abstract: A quiver is a directed graph where multiple edges and loops are allowed. In this introductory talk we describe representation spaces of quivers. A representation of a quiver assigns a vector space to each vertex, and a linear map to to each arrow.
Isomorphism classes of representations of a fixed dimension correspond to orbits of algebraic groups in certain representations. This allows us to study the classification of quiver representations using invariant theory.
