Bilkent University, (Ankara, Turkey) invites qualified academics to apply for positions at the level of Instructor and Assistant or Associate Professor in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics and in particular Genetics/Epigenetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Developmental and Cell Biology, Stem Cell Research, Gene Regulation, infectious diseases and immunology and Signal Transduction.
The candidates are expected to undertake high quality internationally leading research programs in line with the research strategy of the Department to obtain extramural research funding and supervise research staff and students. The candidates are also expected to support and develop teaching and educational activities at undergraduate and graduate levels, including supervision of graduate students. The positions are based on full-time appointment in the main campus of Bilkent University, Faculty of Science. Salary will be competitive and will commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics was established in 1995 with the mission to make a strong contribution to Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Since then, many talented scientists from around the world and Turkey have joined departmental activities as Scientific Leaders, Researchers, PhD and Master students, working in the Cancer Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Genetics of Neurodegenerative Diseases and Complex Diseases. Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, PharmD, or DVM) in the area of specialty and a track record for teaching/postdoctoral research (for all applicants) and have established (for Associate Professors) or demonstrated the potential to establish a high-quality research program (for Assistant Professors). Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of research productivity. Although extramural funding will increase competitiveness of candidates, most emphasis will be placed on candidates’ capabilities to conduct innovative and significant research as demonstrated by high impact publications in highly ranked journals. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain an active research program and to participate in the educational activities of the department.
