Job Description:
Bilkent University Department of Music in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts invites applications for a piano teacher position. This is an open rank position. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, it will be in the rank of instructor, assistant, associate or full professor.

Responsibilities:
1- ) Teach a studio of solo piano students of all levels (age 6 to Master’s)
2- ) Supervise student recitals
3- ) Teach chamber music courses
4- ) Maintain a record of performances that indicates continuing growth and national/international visibility
5- ) Recruit and retain talented piano students
6- ) Administrative duties and service on committees as assigned.

Education Requirement: Master’s degree required. Doctorate degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.

Required Qualifications:  Must be able to interact with a diverse student and parent population and is dedicated to high quality training of young pianists. Must have substantial experience working with small children.

Job Description: 
Bilkent University seeks nominations and applications for an instructor to join the theory – composition faculty as an Instructor. The individual selected will be entirely responsible for teaching the high school music theory and history curriculum.

Responsibilities:
1- ) Teaching primarily high school level music theory, harmony, music history, instrumentation, composition and ear training courses at the Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Music Preparation High School and also similar basic courses at the undergraduate level as needed. Courses will be taught in English. The applicants who are familiar with the specific course materials listed below will be preferred:

For Harmony and Music Theory:

  • Kostka, Stefan, et al. Tonal Harmony with an Introduction to Twentieth-Century. McGraw-Hill

For Music History and Music Appreciation

  • Kerman, Joseph, Gary Tomlinson, and Vivian Kerman. Listen. Macmillan,

2- ) Conduct dictation drills and instruct students about the related music theory subjects at elementary, high school and undergraduate ear training courses.
3- ) Perform piano accompaniment at elementary, high school and undergraduate ear training courses.
4- ) Sit in the entrance examinations to recruit talented music students.
5- ) Administrative duties and service on committees as assigned.

Education Requirement: Minimum Master degree required

Required Qualifications:  Significant professional experience may include: experience teaching at the high school and  university level.
